Metrology fixtures are a critical part of the quality process providing ease of use, higher throughput, increased accuracy, and reduced errors.
We apply innovative, ergonomic and operator friendly design to produce robust, precise and easy to use fixture systems.
Using the latest CAD/CAM packages and design practices, we are able to produce precise fixturing with a collaborative design and manufacture process.
We offer several metrology fixture types:
- Single Fixtures – Holds a single component. Ideal for parts with low volume throughputs or large, complex components.
- Family Fixtures – A single fixture which holds multiple parts of differing types. Ideal for components in product families allowing all parts to be inspected with the same tooling.
- Multi-Nest fixtures – Fixtures holding multiple components of the same type. Ideal for high throughput components and allows improve efficients and lower operator requirements.
- Tumble Fixtures – Fixtures which allow for precise manipulation of components, either manually or automatically which allows for maximum component access.
- Kinematic Loading Systems – Our loading systems allow for the quick, seamless and precise changeover of fixtures on machines.

How it works:
- Requirements Capture: We capture your design requirements over a call to allow us to produce a design specification.
- Concept Design: A concept of the design is shared to ensure expectations are being met
- Design Sign-off: the final design is provided with drawings and models for your review and acceptance
- Manufacture: the design is manufactured to drawing and assembled.
- Verification: Metrology and Machining fixtures are verified to drawing to ensure the highest quality.
- Delivery: The fixtures are delivered to site ready to boost your productivity.

How long will it take to produce a fixture?
Depending on the complexity, we can turn around a design-from-scratch fixture in as little as 2 weeks. The majority of our projects take between 6 and 12 weeks where complexity of design and material treatments necessitate a longer lead time.
What materials do you use?
Materials are often defined by our clients requirements, but if they have none we opt for anodised aluminium construction which is lightweight yet robust. We couple this with the use of engineering plastics like acetal for low friction mating surfaces.
Machining fixtures are often made from tool steel where hardwearing surfaces are needed.
How easy are the fixtures to use?
Our fixtures are usually designed to be used by operators with minimal training and instruction whilst providing reliable workholding.
